Vinny Neilson is a 2022 3B/RHP, 2B, SS with a 5-9 185 lb. frame from Simi Valley, CA who attends Thousand Oaks HS. Strong frame. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.42 seconds. Primary infielder that clocked up to 82 mph on throws across. Displayed good footwork with a quick transition and release displaying accurate throws. From the mound throws from a low three-quarter arm slot, throws strikes and attacked the batters early. The fastball sat 75-83 mph with a tendency to have some sink. Mixed in a changeup that sat 64 mph, that has good drop to it created a lot of swing and misses. Right-handed hitter, hits from a narrow slightly open stance, hands sit just above the shoulder. Has a short compact swing with great bat speed, showed off his power and hit a homerun to left field. Consistently makes loud contact. Was named to the West Coast Prospect Top Prospect list.
