Ben Huckans is a 2022 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Broadalbin, NY who attends IMG Academy. Medium, broad shouldered frame with present strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.23 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front, works with a shorter arm action through back and has carry and accurate on throws across, works through the ball nicely, shows some range and will continue to refine footwork in actions, arm plays on the left side nicely. Also pitched, simple and repeatable delivery, works to a higher slot and filled the strike zone; able to miss bats and induce weak contact, fastball topped out at 84 mph and maintained it well, gets ahead with the heater and velocity projects some moving forward. Mixed in both a slider and changeup with a replicated release, slider up to 72 mph with short life and changeup at 74 mph, sells them well. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; short shift moving into contact through lower half. Strength in hands and forearms, remains short to the ball and creates lift working to pull side; connected for a double in live action to pull side. Creates some torque and has a feel for the barrel. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
