Kevin Stewart is a 2023 OF/LHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Burlington, NJ who attends Burlington Twp. Recorded a 5.06 second forty-yard dash time. Smaller, compact frame with some lean muscle throughout and plenty of room to fill out. Primary outfielder with a solid approach into the fielding process, stays behind the baseball well and fields cleanly off his front foot. Carries some momentum into release and recorded arm strength up to 79 mph during drills. Secondary left-handed pitcher; simple, repeatable operation with some deception due to big hip turn and lower hand start. Incorporates slight drop-and-drive mechanics down the slope and works into a higher three-quarters slot. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 70s for the majority of his outing and he showed good command to both sides of the plate. Mixed in slower 12-6 shaped curveball as go-to secondary offering, flashing some late bite to it and was able to land for strikes. Will continue to improve with additional velocity and minor refinements mechanically. Left-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, even stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Incorporates a good weight shift into contact and showed some feel for the barrel. Lofted stroke with pullside intent, creates some line drive impact when on-time and in-sync. Will improve with proper swing adjustments and physical maturity. Solid overall skill set with some upside remaining on both sides of the ball. Excellent Student.
