Jayden Boyd is a 2024 3B/RHP, 1B with a 6-0 230 lb. frame from Jacksonville, TX who attends Jacksonville. Jayden is an impressively built, strong and agile athlete who shows advanced fundamental skill in all areas of his game. He ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. A primary thrid baseman, Jayden uses his projectable physicality to make all the plays. His footwork is outstanding as he routinely positions well. His glove is smooth and sure. He transitions quickly and confidently and his 79-mph throwing velocity is advanced for his age group. All his throws show plus carry and noticeable accuracy. On the mound, Jayden is highly impressive. He pitches exclusively from the stretch. His mechanical operation is already at an advanced level. He incorporates a high leg lift while staying tall on the backside. He then extends down the slope allowing his thick lower half to generate plus momentum. His on-line arm action and straight over-the-top release are routinely repeated. He pitches off his explosive 80-84 mph fastball, that shows occassional cut. He works both edges and all quadrants well. His 76-mph breaking ball is cutter-like in nature and shows quick, late break at the plate. His 77-mph change-up is thrown with the same arm action and from the same tunnel as his fastball. At the plate, Jayden starts with a slightly open stance. He closes to help trigger and incorporates a sound lower half, with plus torque, in each swing. He shows more of a flatter, line-drive swing plane with a slugger's lift at contact. There is some power in his barrel.
