Jacob Ellis is a 2019 LHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Edmond, OK who attends Piedmont HS. Medium athletic build with good strength in his lower half. High leg lift delivery with a high 3/4's arm slot, deliberate tempo, uses his strong lower half well working down the mound, drop and drive actions, tends to work cross body and keep his front side closed for too long at times. Low 80's fastball, topped out at 83 mph with occasional cutting action. Curveball had some 12/6 depth at times, firm change up was mostly straight. Worked around the plate with all his pitches and created soft contact. Key to development will be improving the quality and consistency of his off speed pitches. Good student.
