Augusto Calienes is a 2023 RHP/2B, 3B, OF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines, FL who attends Pembroke Pines Charter. Ran a 7.51 second 60 yard dash. A primary righthanded pitcher, starts with a side step into a leg lift above the belt, he raises the hands over the head moving into the delivery with pretty simple mechanics and long arm stroke to an over the top arm slot, the fastball sat 79-81 mph generating weak contact as he spotted it to both sides of the plate, showed a curveball with 12-6 shape that has the potential to show better with more consistent arm speed but plays best right now at the bottom of the zone, also showed control off a changeup and slider as he mixed all four offerings for strikes. In the infield he showed some arm strength across the diamond, waits back to field the ball with firm hands out front. In the outfield, he attacks the ball fielding it off the left foot, showed a full arm action working to a high release throwing 82 from the outfield. At the plate, his righthanded swing utilizes a small leg lift trigger, he showed good bat speed through the zone with an 84 mph exit velocity and some lift that plays to the pull side, overall it's a simple stroke with solid barrel control.
