LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2023 WWBA Workout Showcase (Wed)
Josh Barnes is a 2025 C/RHP, 1B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Leesburg, GA who attends Lee County. Big frame with present physical strength and some hop to his step for a larger athlete. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.12 seconds. Primary position C, sitting in deep and balanced for his primary setup. Gets out of the crouch well and gains ground in transition. Compact arm action and high 3/4 release building throws up to 75 mph and pop time best 1.97 seconds. Reps at 1B as well, fundamentally sound and making plays. Moves around the bag and understands angles. Throws up to 80 mph here. Switch hitter. From the left side, wide stance and hinged over the plate. Inward toe-tap trigger to load and good handset to allow him to get on plane. Natural loft to his contact and emerging power that will come in time. From the right side, medium stance with same inward toe-tap trigger. More pronounced trigger with hands here with longer path to the ball. More impact here when on time but did mistime some and miss the barrel. Nice skill set for a switch-hitting catcher and will continue to progress with time. Elite performer in the classroom.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
