Thomas Mazzella is a 2023 RHP/2B/OF with a 6-0 183 lb. frame from Jackson, NJ who attends Jackson Memorial. Recorded a 5.22 second forty-yard dash time. Medium, compact frame with square shoulders and some present lower half strength. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Incorporates slightly higher leg lift and coiled leg lift into balance, while using a slight drop-and-drive lower half mechanics down the slope. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 70s for the duration of his outing and topped out at 77 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Deceptive fastball with sneaky life through the bottom of the zone, mixed in sharp 12-6 curveball and replicated changeup as main secondary offerings. Secondary outfielder with a developing defensive skill set. Incorporates deliberate, segmented actions throughout the fielding process. Displays clean gather off his front foot and a slightly elongated transfer process into release. Recorded arm strength up to 80 mph during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, upright stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Incorporates low, deep hand loading mechanism and slight drift into contact. Upward swing plane with developing bat-to-ball skills and occasional line drive impact. Developing, young prospect that will continue to improve with proper adjustments mechanically and additional strength. Some projection remaining. Excellent Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
