Bryan Haar is a 2008 SS/OF/P with a 6'3'', 185 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Grossmont HS. Haar has a long frame and a good build for adding future strength. He is tall and rangy in the field with good body control. He has a fluid arm and very good arm strength. His length, actions and quickness point him to third base in the future but he should be a very good defender at the corner. At the plate, Haar is a pull hitter with a long, powerful swing and very good bat speed. He has a big wrap in back to load his swing and tucks his front shoulder, so he has a long way to go to get the bat head in the zone. His strength, leverage and bat speed means the ball jumps off his bat hard but he will have to make adjustments to his swing and approach to consistently handle harder velocity pitching. The tools are there to hit, though. Haar is a very good student with a verbal commitment to San Diego.
