2022 Sunshine East Showcase
Jared Luis Colon is a 2023 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Ponce, PR who attends Home School. Showed above average speed with a 6.72 second sixty. Primary short stop with a medium athletic build. Works well to the ball with feel for the glove showing some actions to build on. Gains ground into the throws with extra steps showing big time arm strength across the diamond. Starts with a side step into a belt high leg lift while the arm action works on a medium track through the back to a high three-quarters arm slot with some arm strength with limited use of the lower half as he strides down the mound. The fastball sat 80-84 mph with more in the tank while pounding the zone at a high rate and getting quicker outs and showing a changeup as his primary off speed. Right-handed hitter, starts with a spread base and a flat bat, keeps the bat level through the hitting zone with some back spin created at contact impacting the ball best to the pull side with above average bat speed. Very good student. Named to the 2022 Sunshine East Showcase Top Prospect List.
