Gabriel Monosmith is a 2021 C/OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Ankeny, IA who attends Ankeny Centennial. Recorded a 7.31 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, well-proportioned frame with some present lower half strength. Primary catcher with a solid catch-and-throw skill set; incorporates a higher, side-saddled stance to receive, gaining ground towards his target fairly quick, while exhibiting quick mid-line transfers and a short arm stroke. Displayed ability to stay in line and deliver accurate throws in drills. Secondary outfielder with segmented actions during the fielding process; attacks the ball aggressively, keeping momentum into release and recording arm strength up to 85 mph in drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Fairly consistent bat-to-ball skills with middle-of-the field approach but the ability to turn the barrel on the inner half when needed. Aggressive, intent based swing with present bat speed that translates well into game play, producing multiple well-struck line drives.
