Thomas Taylor is a 2008 RHP with a 6'4'', 185 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Blue Valley West HS. He has a classic projectable young pitcher's build, with long arms and legs and narrow hips. Taylor throws from a tall, low effort delivery and his arm action is loose and very fluid. Taylor accelerates his arm very well and the ball comes out of his hand easily. His fastball was 87-89, touch 90 mph with good downhill plane and there is much more there as he gets stronger. Taylor's best pitch was a 74-77 mph curveball that was nasty at times, with very good depth and a hard biting action. He also showed a good feel for a change up. Taylor had a good idea what he was doing on the mound, had excellent mechanics and a nasty breaking ball. The only major ingredient missing right now is the fastball velocity and that isn't far away. Keep a very close eye on him, he has a very high ceiling. Taylor is also a good student.
