Tyler Payne is a 2024 1B/RHP, C, 3B with a 6-0 230 lb. frame from Jasper, GA who attends Pickens County. Ran a 8.21 second sixty. Primary first baseman with a larger build. Showed developing actions with the glove working to the ball with choppy steps and carrying the momentum into the throws, making accurate throws from a higher slot with developing arm strength. Rocks into the side step with a leg lift above the belt and a compact arm action to an over the top slot. Fastball sat 73-78 mph with some deception giving hitter some trouble and mixing in a developing breaking ball in the upper 60's with looser spin but landing for strikes. Right-handed hitter, allows the hands to work to and through the ball freely with the ability to get the ball in the air while showing some power to the pull side. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
