Carlos Calata is a 2023 SS/2B, OF with a 5-11 135 lb. frame from West Jordan, UT who attends Juan Diego Catholic. He ran a 7.29 second sixty. A primary short stop with an athletic build. On the infield he worked quick to the ball with good range and soft hands receiving the ball, he is able to get the ball across the diamond cleanly while changing slots with average carry. Right-handed hitter, showed an athletic swing with a pretty loose and easy swing path, he worked to the middle of the field with some lift and good feel for the barrel and got into his lower half a few times creating more jump, he repeats the swing well and project well with added strength. Good student.
