Gavin Byrd is a 2026 SS/3B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Lakeland, FL who attends Lakeland Christian. Nice young athletic build with good size and length and the beginnings of some present strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a barrel wrap load, loose tension free swing, rotates his hips and lower half well, gets the barrel though the zone on time and hits to all fields, very sound base swing to grow into as he gets stronger. 6.98 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, has quick feet and moves well especially for his size, has actions and good timing, plays under control, some arm strength across the diamond. Good student.
