Julian Suarez is a 2027 C/RHP, IF, OF with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Sinton, TX who attends Sinton. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build, room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, athletic set up behind the plate, efficient movements coming out, shows a short release on throws and gains ground with lower half coming out of crouch, shows carry on throws down to second base with accuracy. Moves well to the ball in the infield, wide base fielding it but works through it well, glove skills play at the ball, shorter strides moving to ball, easy release on throws. Also pitched, controlled and measured pace to delivery, higher release point and works on top to generate downhill plane. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, compact arm action, shows occasional run through the zone; curveball shows downer shape up to 65 mph with depth to it through the zone. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a hover leg lift trigger for timing. Does a nice job of staying short to the ball and remains compact through point of contact. Consistent approach and shows ability to generate back spin, best contact when working on a linear plane and has comfort working to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Swings under control and repeats mechanics, projects nicely with added strength. Excellent student.
