Christian Valerio is a 2023 3B/RHP, MIF, OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Bergenfield, NJ who attends Bergenfield. High-waisted, long, lanky frame with tons of physical projection remaining to be added throughout build. 7.00-second runner during the sixty. In the outfield, aggressive approach to the ball with some bounce in his step. Flashed some arm strength, up to 78 mph with accurate throws to the bases. In the infield, deep funnel with developing footwork working through the ball. Some stiffness in his actions as he works through the ball. Developing arm strength, up to 74 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, wide, slightly open stance with high-hand set. Good feel for the barrel with looseness in his hands. Uphill stroke showing he could lift the ball to the gaps with present pop. Long levers translate well into swing. Right-handed pitcher, full wind up with compact and controlled mechanics. Comes from a high 3/4 slot, getting downhill as he worked his fastball on both sides of the plate. Generated weak contact as he worked efficiently. Mid-70s fastball with more life in the arm with some refinement to his arm action and mechanics. Excellent student.
