Owen Archer is a 2021 OF/RHP/UT with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Frisco, TX who attends Liberty HS. Medium frame with an athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.10 sixty yard dash. Primary outfielder with aggressive footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions and pick up and worked through exchange efficiently. Created uphill carry at release topping at 78 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a slightly crouched, balanced stance. Coils top half slightly at load and looked to work through extension on a linear plane. Looked to create lift at contact and displayed good strength at contact when on time and squared. Primarily looked to drive the ball to the middle of the field. Also pitched showing a clean arm circle at take back with a high three-quarters arm slot. Stays firm on front side and carries momentum to target. Fastball came out of hand clean created some downward plane in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 78 miles per hour. Curveball had 12/6 shape with solid spin and good depth when staying on top at release. Also flashed a changeup that generated sink in the low 70's. Good deception with both off speed pitches with the ability to duplicate arm speed. Looked to challenge hitters to the bottom of the zone and induce weak contact. Very good student as well.
