Joel Fernandez is a 2024 C/RHP/IF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Yakima, WA who attends Davis. Strong athletic build with room to get stronger, good catcher's build. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread straight stance with a good lower half shift into contact, simple and direct swing approach, has a loose and fluid swing and gets the barrel out well, consistently well timed, can create back spin and carry on the ball, nice hitting tools to further develop. 8.02 runner, has some quickness and athleticism behind the plate, has nice infield actions and showed his athleticism well there, too. Arm strength still developing but his arm works well. Bat is his present tool. Good student. Named to the 13U National Showcase Top Prospect List.
