Mason Compton is a 2023 RHP/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Buford, GA who attends Flowery Branch. Recorded a 7.53 second 60 yard dash time. Strong and athletic build, very physical for his age. Primary right-handed pitcher with a leg kick above the belt and slight arm side fun to the fastball. Short and compact arm action with a tight release from the ear. Comes from a high three-quarters slot, shows a nice changeup that he will use to both left and right-handed hitters. Throws a tight 11-5 curveball, solid pitch but lacks depth right now. Fastball is heavy and gets on you quick, stays tall throughout with clean and simple mechanics. Worked quick and had efficient innings. Secondary third baseman with some feel for the glove, comes from an over the top slot and stands straight up to throw. Developing accuracy, looked good on the charge. Right-handed hitter with a balanced and open start. High hand and back elbow set, gets the foot down early. Extends well, ball comes hard off the bat. Rotational swing, stays to the pull side gap. Excellent student.
