Dillon Martin is a 2020 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Italy, TX who attends Avalon. Compact frame with some athleticism. Slender build with room to add moving forward. Ran a 7.58 second 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher working from the stretch. Gets into a leg lift to the belt. Works down the mound with drop and drive actions to the plate staying online through the finish. Uses a long and loose arm action in the back and working into a mid three-quarter arm slot. Pounds the zone with the fastball early in counts and creates soft contact, topping out at 71 MPH. Curveball showing a 2-to-8 shape with some sweeping actions across the plate. Worked out defensively as a secondary outfielder. Smooth and athletic actions to the ball. Works through well with quick transitions into throws. Still developing arm strength but has the actions to continue to improve in the outfield. Lefthanded hitter with an even stance and leg lift trigger for timing. Direct hand path through a line drive plane. Middle of the field approach creating some harder line drive contact. Very good student as well.
