Andrew Castelluccio is a 2022 RHP/SS with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Ridgefield, CT who attends Ridgefield. Recorded a 5.28 second forty-yard dash time. Projectable frame with long levers, some lean muscle and room to fill out. Primary right-handed pitcher that works from a simple, repeatable delivery with good usage of his lower half down the slope and extension out in front. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 80s for most of his outing, topping out at 87 mph from a high 3/4's arm slot. Displayed ability to command both sides of the plate effectively, getting ahead with his fastball that flashed occasional cut to it. Mixed in two promising secondary offerings, a sharp biting slider that holds its 11-5 shape through the zone and a harder changeup that flashed fading action down in the zone. Proficient strike thrower with good three-pitch mix and velocity upside. Will continue to improve as he fully matures. Secondary infielder with athletic actions throughout the fielding process; exhibits quick first step and some lateral range to field slightly deeper, while loading up to throw from a similar 3/4's arm action. Recorded arm strength up to 85 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and big leg lift trigger. Lofted stroke with long, loose swing path and some leverage out in front. Displays some barrel skills and strength through impact when on-time, mostly pull-side contact with some gap-to-gap power. Solid overall prospect with immense upside and projection on the mound. Good Student. Verbally committed to St.John's University. Named to the 2021 Northeast Indoor Top Prospect List.
