Charles Emitt Gates is a 2023 C/RHP, OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Merriam, KS who attends Shawnee Mission North. Medium athletic build. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.41 seconds. A primary catcher who works out of a side saddle setup and throws with a compact arm circle. Did a nice job of getting momentum behind his throws and best pop time was recorded at 1.94 seconds and his best throw was clocked at 74 mph. In the outfield his top throw was 81 mph. With the bat he hits out of a square and balanced stance with a leg lift trigger. Does a nice job of getting off his back side and utilizing his lower half throughout his swing. Showed an all-fields approach with aggressive intent in his swings.
