Chase Donovan is a 2021 RHP with a 6-5 198 lb. frame from Georgetown, TX who attends Georgetown. Big and strong athletic build. Slow to fast mechanics with an extended mid 3/4's arm slot, medium length arm action, hides the ball well in back, energy at release creates some inconsistency. Upper 80's fastball, mostly straight with occasional arm side running life. Change up was a solid pitch for him that got outs, throws it for strikes with some fade and dive. Uses a soft curveball as his breaking ball, key to his future on the mound will be improving either his curveball spin or developing a slider. Certainly has a chance to keep adding velocity. Good student, verbal commitment to Hill College.
