Tristan Potts is a 2024 OF/LHP/1B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Waxhaw, NC who attends Cuthbertson. Long and very projectable athletic build, stands out for a freshman. 7.03 runner in the sixty, has smooth strides and athleticism in the outfield, very good footwork and balance for his age, fields cleanly out front, arm action is long and loose and makes accurate throws. Also plays first base and realistically might be too athletic at this point for that position given his outfield tools. Left handed hitter, hits from a balanced and slightly open stance, tends to stay open in his short shift into contact, still gaining the hand and upper body strength to drive the barrel, middle of the field line drive approach. Also pitched, arm is more compact on the mound than in the outfield, tends to open his front side early and stride open leaving his arm late coming through, lots of deception in his mechanics and he's able to repeat them well due to his athleticism. Fastball topped out at 80 mph with big running life at times, curveball showed good spin and bite. Has a chance to keep developing as a pitcher as well.
