Justin (Juice) Tobin is a 2023 2B/RHP/SS with a 5-6 115 lb. frame from Richmond, VA who attends Godwin. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean and projectable build with room to grow and develop physically moving forward. Ran a 7.69 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front with a wide base, developing actions at the ball, short steps moving towards the ball, works on top of throws and shows accuracy across the diamond, arm strength will continue to develop. Also pitched, short side step moving into a leg lift up to belt; full arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 69 mph and worked around the zone well, induced weak ground ball contact, shows short running life to fastball and flashed a curveball at 62 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; shifts weight through lower half with longer stride. Employs a contact oriented approach with a linear path through the zone, shows quickness to hands, occasionally gets to front side early with weight shift. Comfort working to pull side, gets downhill at times, projects with added strength. Very good student.
