Ben Fader is a 2021 LHP/OF with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Ellicott City, MD who attends Howard. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 40 yard dash in 4.99 seconds. Primary lefthanded pitcher, small side step to balance, high-energy compact delivery, quick arm stroke to high three quarters, fastball worked 74-79 mph with good command, CB shows good depth and flashed a changeup as well, commanded all 3 and pounded the zone. Hits from slightly open stance, hitches back into load but on time consistently, flatter path, moves well in lower half, consistently good contact skills. Worked out in the outfield, quick footwork with fluidity to motion, glove works well, clocked up to 81 mph on throws. Very good student.
