Ethan Farrell is a 2023 MIF/RHP/OF with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from St. Thomas, VI who attends Saints Peter and Paul High School. Medium, athletic frame with room to add strength and physically mature. Primary middle-infielder with a quick first step, plenty of lateral range and clean funnel out in-front. Worked downhill through the baseball and produced online, accurate throws with carry up to 87 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from an abbreviated full windup with forty-five degree start and small side-step into balance. Used slightly higher leg lift with coiled apex, while showcasing efficient lower half movements down the slope. Fastball worked in the upper-70s to low-80s for the duration of his outing and topped out at 82 mph from a three-quarters arm slot. Showed ability to manipulate the fastball to both sides of the plate and repeats well. Flashed feel for spin and the ability to land 11-5 shaped curveball with raw spin rates in the 2300s. Showed best in the outfield portion of the defensive workout, where he displayed quick twitch actions and smoothness throughout the fielding process. Fields out in-front, transitions efficiently and produced accurate, on-line throws up to 87 mph during drills. Switch-hitter that showed better from the left-side. Similar slightly open stance with tight hand set and leg lift trigger. Showed better feel for the barrel from the left-side with better leverage and timing as well. Right-handed stroke is slightly flatter with still developing feel for the barrel. Quick twitch athlete with two-way skill set and prowess on both sides of the baseball. Excellent Student. Named to the 2022 Main Event Top Prospect List.
