Matthew Davis Jr is a 2027 OF/LHP/1B with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Murphy, NC. Slender young build with lots of room to get stronger. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a short weight shift into contact, loads his hands well, solid overall swing mechanics, still gaining the strength to drive the barrel and create bat speed but a good swing base to grow into. 7.74 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, fields the ball cleanly out front with good glove actions and a clean transfer into throwing, makes accurate throws with developing arm strength. Also plays some first base. Took a turn on the mound, works from the stretch with a full arm takeaway and a long stride down the mound, extending 3/4's arm slot. Fastball worked in the upper 60's with some running and sinking life. Showed a nice change up to get an out, still developing feel for his curveball release point.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
