Jose Vega Velez is a 2022 C/1B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Yauco, PR who attends Colegio Inmaculada Concepcion. Recorded a 7.33 second 60-yard dash time. Medium frame with broad shoulders and room to add strength to the build. Primary catcher with a quick transfer and fast arm stroke. Works through his lower half well with good footwork. Solid arm strength recorded up to 73 mph down to the bag with a best recorded pop time of 2.03 seconds. Right-handed hitter with a spread start and swings with intent. Loads onto his backside well with a clean weight shift through contact. Extended barrel path with the ability to drive the ball to the opposite field with power. Great student.
