Matt Rodarte is a 2022 C/RHP, 3B with a 6-1 215 lb. frame from Oswego, IL who attends St. Rita Of Cascia. Large, broad shouldered frame with nice present strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.70 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, begins with a lower set up behind the plate, receives the ball out front, quick actions coming out of crouch with a long stride and gains ground well, arm strength played on throws down to second base, shows accuracy, repeats mechanics. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and a medium hands set, lowers hands moving into load and utilizes a toe tap trigger for timing. Moving parts in mechanics, swings with intent and shows big jump off of the barrel when squared. Long swing path through the zone, gets mistimed on occasion, best contact to pull side. Very good student.
