Griffin Maloney is a 2021 OF/RHP with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Hiawatha, IA who attends Xavier. Ran a 7.29-second sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with a medium frame and slender build that has room to fill out and add strength. Has soft hands to field, staying quick to the ball and showcasing accurate throws to bases. Has young arm strength with throws up to 78mph. Right-handed hitter that starts from a tall and narrow stance, with a high hand set and linear shift to contact. Has some bat speed with good feel for the barrel, showcasing a swing that will continue to develop as the frame matures. Secondary right-handed pitcher that starts from the windup with a side step into a belt high leg lift. Has a long arm action from a three-quarter slot, landing toward the first base side and getting extension out front. Sits 76-78mph with the fastball, mixing speeds with a pair of secondary offerings. Low-70s curveball has 11-5 shape and the straight changeup provides a good third pitch. Good student.
