Angel Matos is a 2023 C/1B, OF with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Carolina, PR who attends National Baseball Academy. Physical build with good strength and size, some definition to upper half. Ran a 7.40 in the 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, one knee setup with a stronger arm to the bag. Gains ground in catch and arm talent shows in release. Left-handed hitter, open and upright stance with a closer base. Toe tap timing and higher hand set. Fires the hips and hands hard to the pull side. Good loft to the path and plenty of loud contact when squared. Very solid round and lots to build on. Good student.
