Ryan Murphy is a 2020 LHP with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Billerica, MA who attends Billerica Memorial High School. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and long limbs, present strength proportioned well throughout with additional room to fill moving forward. Ran a 7.53 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, high energy to delivery, big rock step moving into a high leg lift up above belt, gathers well over the rubber before driving down the mound. Long and loose arm stroke through the back working to a tight over-the-top release point. Lands on line towards the plate and generates consistent cut to fastball. Topped out at 84 mph, projects for more velocity in the future, plane to it when on time with release. Curveball developed nicely during outing, short breaking 1-7 shape on the pitch up to 73 mph, most effective when burying down in the zone. Verbal commitment to Maryland.
