Jonathan Vaughns is a 2020 3B/OF/RHP with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Glendora, CA who attends St. John Bosco. Big and strong athletic build. Left handed hitter, upper half rotational swing from an even base, power approach with lots of lift in his swing path, looks to pull the ball and will hit around it at times, can drive the ball when everything is on time, key will be developing consistency is his timing. Played both outfield and infield defensively, athleticism and arm strength played better in the outfield at this event. Also pitched, over the top arm slot with a short stride out front, tends to fall off to the first base on release. Fastball topped out at 90 mph, has been up to 93 mph at PG events in the past, mostly straight, threw his fastball for strikes well. Showed a solid slider with occasional depth and good lateness, flashed a developing change up. May have a higher ceiling on the mound with some mechanical adjustments.
