Jacob Hardman is a 2018 C/3B with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Prattville, AL who attends Autauga Academy. Strong and physical frame with broad shoulders and a strong presence on the diamond. Recorded a 7.76 second 60-yard dash. Primary catcher with arm strength up to 77 mph. Quick actions and exchange with a recorded pop time of 2.12 seconds. Strength makes for a physical presence behind the plate. Righthanded hitter with a high hand set and a high back elbow. Narrow and closed batting stance to start with a small stride toward the pitcher upon separation. Deeper hand load that gets through on time well. Shows good strength, up to 87 mph exit velocity, and flashed bat speed through the swing. Quickness to hands from a direct path to contact. Timing dependent swing and has a line drive swing plane. Upper half dominant approach and made solid contact to the opposite field. Good student.
