Nathan Beneke is a 2021 OF/RHP, C with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Geneseo, IL who attends Geneseo. Medium frame with a lean build. Primary outfielder with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions at pick up and worked through exchange with loose glove to hand transfers. Created accurate, on line carry to the bag at release topping at 77 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from behind the place showing a slightly taller, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground while working out of crouch and utilized a compact glove cirlce. Released from a three-quarters slot generated accurate carry to the bag at 70 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.21. Right handed hitter with a taller stance and leg lift trigger. Stacks back side at load and works to baseball with rotational actions. Utilized a loose hand path to baseball and flashed some barrel quickness on a line drive plane through extension. Primarily worked to the middle of the field with the ability to throw barrel head and work to the pull side gap as well. Also pitched showing a short side step to medium leg lift delivery. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly producing some downhill plane in the low 70's, topped at 72 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with softer shape and solid depth in the lwo 60's. Displayed good feel for both offerings and works to all quadrants of the strike zone. Very good student as well.
