Derrick Corona is a 2022 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Barbara Goleman. Smaller athletic frame with a lean build. Ran a 6.99 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves around with great energy and bounce to his actions, good footwork and range to get to the spot on time, fields it well on the move and showed ability to change arm slot with good strength clocked up to 83 mph across. Also worked out in the outfield, athleticism translates, gets to the spot and works through the ball well, good clean throws from a strong arm. Right-handed hitter, sets up slightly open and strides in line; great present bat speed, can turn his hands in tight and get the barrel through quick, accurate with the barrel and can work to all fields, comes off impact well and explosiveness produces strong contact. Performed on the offensive end in game action as well. Outstanding student. Named to 2021 Miami Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
