River Shea is a 2019 RHP/SS with a 6-0 186 lb. frame from Lake Orion, MI who attends Notre Dame Prep. Medium frame with athletic present build; some strength there along with good projection. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.04 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher; stiffness to delivery with mostly upper-half mechanics, finishes upright, lands moderately closed off with front foot while hip gates, loose arm stroke to high three quarters arm slot, fastball worked 78-81 mph with good life, flashed ability to cut it and run it. Showed slider that he could manipulate the shape of a bit, flashes sharpness to short break; also worked in changeup with modest feel. Sets up to hit from upright, even-based stance; lays barrel way back to get on plane early, quickness to hands on line drive swing plane, flashed barrel skills, very compact in and out of the zone. Worked out in the infield; some quickness to footwork, athleticism present through actions, late glove down into deeper funnel, arm strength up to 74 mph across the diamond. Good student.
