Thaxton Berch is a 2021 SS/RHP, OF, UT with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Jackson, MS who attends Jackson Preparatory. Medium frame with slender, athletic build. Hits from more squatted stance, bars hands back into load, short stride, stationary lower half through swing, pulls hands into inside path, middle field approach. Worked out in the infield, shows solid athleticism when moving laterally, hands work when out front, lower slot throws across the diamond, clocked up to 80 mph. Also pitched, good direction downhill, finishes over front side, quick arm to high 3/4 slot, fastball worked 79-82 mph with good arm side life, turns over a good changeup, also flashed sweeping slider. Graded out best on the mound in this event. Very good student.
