Henry Barney is a 2023 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Shawnee, KS who attends St. James Academy. Medium frame with slender, compact build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.42 seconds. Primary lefthanded pitcher, compact arm stroke, good angle from compact 3/4 slot, short crossfire stride, fastball worked 73-76 mph with angle, showed curveball that was best when slurvy, flashed a slow changeup as well. Hits from open stance with small stride, has solid bat speed, creates lift, pull-side approach with repeatable swing. Quick transfer and release at 1B with good hands, flashed arm strength from the OF up to 80 mph. Good student.
