Owen Imel is a 2023 LHP/OF with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Lapel, IN who attends Lapel. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to grow and develop moving forward. Ran a 7.73 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, shows balance and tempo to delivery, full and loose arm action through the back and works on top of fastball well, fills the zone with comfort. Fastball topped out at 68 mph, flashes nice running life to his arm side. Comfort spinning his curveball, shows 1-7 shape with depth and lands it for strikes; projects well with added physical strength. Takes short steps moving to the ball from the outfield, strides slightly open with lower half mechanics, similar arm action as on the mound, gets under throws on occasion. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an open stance a medium hand set in the box; utilizes a leg lift trigger with hip coil at top of swing. Upper body dominant swing, full swing path through the zone with a linear path through the zone. Creates line drive contact off the barrel and shows a handle for it, comfort working to the middle and pull side parts of the field.
