Matthew Martinez is a 2022 C/3B with a 5-11 210 lb. frame from Kutztown, PA who attends P27 Academy. Recorded a 7.50 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, strong looking frame with well proportioned strength throughout. Primary catcher that receives from a slightly side-saddle stance with soft hands, while displaying quick footwork out of the crouch and quick mid-line transfers into the throwing position. Used a short, compact arm action to throw, recording arm strength up to 80 mph from behind the plate during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open, spread stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Compact, short swing with consistent bat-to-ball skills and real feel for his barrel. Displayed ability to impact the baseball with authority, while flashing legitimate power position that translated into game play. Fundamentally sound prospect with a lot of components to like on both sides of the ball. Has real catch-and-throw skills with advanced hit tool and legitimate power that translates. Good Student.
