Nicholas Trucke is a 2020 C/IF, OF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Watertown, MN who attends Watertown Mayer. Medium frame with a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary catcher with a slightly caller, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground towards the bag while working out of crouch. Showed a compact arm action showing developing accuracy to the bag at 70 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.19. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing clean footwork while surrounding the baseball. Plays below baseball while funneling and worked through exchange well. Displayed some arm strength while throwing across the infield creating occasional on line carry at 79 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple front side trigger. Created some linear shift into baseball with lower half. Direct hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Stayed balanced throughout while displaying solid feel for the barrel. Utilized a mid field approach and flashed good jump to the pull side gap when on time and squared. Very good student.
