Joe Carrea is a 2021 RHP/ with a 6-2 160 lb. frame from Cranford, NJ who attends Cranford. Recorded a 7.46 second sixty-yard dash time. Projectable frame with long levers and room to fill out. Primary right-handed pitcher; abbreviated wind-up with hip turn at balance, drop and drive lower half mechanics and slight cross-body at release. Works from a high three-quarters arm slot with short arm swing on the back side and present arm speed. Fastball worked in the 81-83 range in this look, topping out at 85 mph with good arm-side life to it through the strike zone. Shows ability to command both sides of the plate with full mix, flashing good spin traits to his 11-5 shaped curveball and well-replicated changeup with above average depth/tilt to it. Solid overall operation with upside left on the mound and more velocity in the tank. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, even stance with fairly consistent bat-to-ball skills and some leverage out in front. Whole field approach with some feel for the barrel and line drive impact when on time. Excellent Student.
