Michael Ballou is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Short Hills, NJ who attends Millburn. Primary left-handed pitcher with a high-waist slender frame and medium build. Rhythmic delivery with hands dropping from chest to waist with side step from third base side of the rubber and back up to chest with lift to high waist. Slightly closed landing getting down the slope with a longer arm swing behind to a 3/4 low release slot. Fastball velocity at 72 mph with deceptive action from arm slot and delivery. Big curveball in the mid-50s range with ability to land for strikes. Secondary outfielder with fundamental actions and good approach to gather with solid footwork. Made accurate throws to the bases at 71 mph with a loose arm stroke and follow through. Left-handed hitter with open base and pull-side approach in the box. Leg-lift trigger with separation of hands into slot and high two-hand finish. Showed some loft out front to the pull side with linear barrel path through the zone. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
