Marco Gonzalez is a 2024 3B/RHP, UT with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Winter Springs, FL who attends Winter Springs. A taller frame with a higher set waist. Good strength to his actions. Projectable frame. Ran a 6.83 60-yard dash. Worked out as an infielder with a pretty quick arm across, throwing 90 mph to first base during his round of throws. He threw from a lower slot, fielding it, and letting the throws rip across the diamond. High glove point as part of the throws. A right-handed hitter with a wider base and high hands with the back elbow up. Gets all of the weight on his backside and was able to turn it over. Tries to transfer the weight through contact and then use it to produce some power out front. Showed off some juice during his round of BP. Managed an 87 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher, working from the stretch only. Had a leg lift up above the belt before moving down the mound. Throws from a high three-quarters arm slot and had some pace to his actions moving down the mound. He gets down the slope quickly and had some whip to the arm through release. Had a shorter arm action overall. Heavy fastball attack working 80-83 mph and reaching back for 84 mph. The pitch had some downhill plane to it. Showed a harder changeup with a straight depth to it at 78 mph. Was not afraid to show the changeup righty-on-righty either. He showed a slider in the mix at 74 mph with a tighter shape to it. Gonzalez varied his timing and looked to disrupt hitters timing which he had success in doing. Sped hitters up and slowed them down for success. Great student. Named to 2023 Sunshine East Showcase TP List.
