Willie Ponce is a 2020 SS/RHP/C with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Olathe, KS who attends Wellsville HS. Compact frame with a athletic build and present strength.Ran a 7.08 second sixty yard dash. Showed quick feet along with good hands and good arm strength topping out at 79 miles per hour across the diamond. Left handed hitter. Utilizes a slightly open, wide base, high back elbow and hand set up. Displayed a middle to opposite field line drive approach with good barrel control and solid consistent contact to all fields. Also pitched at the event. On the mound uses a small side step with a belt high leg lift. Employs a full arm action from a three-quarters slot with good arm speed and extension. Flashed a fastball with some life topping out at 82 miles per hour accompanied by a nice slider with good lateral movement topping out at 73 miles per hour. Good student.
