Chase Katafias is a 2019 IF/RHP with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Ladera Ranch, CA who attends JSerra Catholic HS. Slender young square shouldered build, projects well physically. 7.44 runner, shows good athleticism moving through the ball on defense, good footwork, long and loose arm action is projectable, will keep improving, also played the outfield. Right handed hitter, bent knee stance, rotational swing with a short hand path to the ball, line drive swing plane, stays balanced and directional well and hits to all fields, high contact/average approach. Also pitched, easy delivery with a high 3/4's arm slot, repeats well. Fills up the strike zone with a mid-70's fastball, topped out at 76 mph, slowed arm on his curveball, change up had good fade at 68 mph. Good student.
