Nick Kolze is a 2022 1B/RHP, OF with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Romeoville, IL who attends Romeoville. Ran a 7.22 second sixty-yard dash. Has a medium frame with some present strength in the lower half, as well as some athleticism. Rounds the ball well, with a clean glove out front and good footwork around the bag. Has some present arm strength with a clean arm path, making accurate throws to bases at 85 miles per hour. Has an upright and even stance at the plate, with a leg lift trigger and low hand set. Shows good bat speed, with a pull side approach and slightly elevated path to contact. Swings with intent to impact the ball and drive it deep to the outfield, and shows good jump to all fields when squared. Secondary right-handed pitcher that starts from the windup with a small side step to a belt high leg lift, staying slightly flexed at gather and going to drop and drive actions down the mound. Creates good linear direction in the lower half, staying on line through finish and getting good extension over the front side at release. Has a long and loose arm action with good arm speed from a over the top slot, staying explosive down the mound through the entire delivery. Attacked hitters with a fastball up to 88 miles per hour, and shows good feel for the zone with a curveball that has 11-5 shape and sharp break. Really projectable actions on the mound. Good student.
